Should I be worried ... - 2007-06-15

Hmm.

Things I was thinking about on my last walk...

Why do so many people in suburbia pay money to put in sprinkler systems and pay to water the lawn every other day but don't bother to get rid of the weeds. Our neighborhood has at least 4 yards where they're spending good money to keep their weedy messes green. And why don't these losers ever bother to check their sprinkler adjustment. One guy waters every bit of the sidewalk and street every other day. The grass, not so much.

Why do so many people have exterior work uncompleted on their houses? On my walk there's a house that had an addition put over their garage in the spring that still doesn't have siding. There's a house where the siding came loose in February on one side - it's still loose today. There's a new house under construction that has a deck already built but one side still doesn't siding. And I won't even get into the strange house on the main road where they removed the blue siding that covered about 3/4s of the house this past spring and mostly replaced it with beige. Not that they actually finished this color either.

The drought has been hard on the trees. We've got a bunch of maples that are giving up and dropping leaves early. I'm worried about one in particular that is just flat out turning brown on the tree.
