Yesterday the boy got his "appliance". Sounds like we bought him a Maytag or something but what we got him was a retainer. Yes the teeth realignment has begun. He's not slurping quite as much as they said he would, but the poor thing can't speak clearly at all. Anything that requires the roof of the mouth has become hopelessly garbled and all the s sounds hiss endlessly. Luckily he has some time before school starts to get used to it.
