Selective Hearing.

They say people only hear what they want to, so why is it that my child only hears the worst part of whatever I say? If I say "play nicely or you'll be in trouble" he hears "you're in trouble". If I say "get yourself together or go to bed" he hears "go to bed". If I say you have a choice he never hears anything but the punishment. He's making me crazy with this stuff. Mommy's little martyr. Sometimes I just want punish him so he'll be right.
