Perfectionist.

Today was a birthday party at the roller rink. This was the boy's first experience on wheels. It started very shaky. Hysterics within 10 minutes. He actually said "I should be good at this". I asked why as it was his first time on skates. "Because I'm bigger", he said. Took quite a while to disabuse him of that notion.

After an hour or so he was wobbly. After 2 he was fairly confident on the carpet. After we stopped for cake he went back to wobbly. Finally for the last 30 minutes or so he would go in one entrance to the skating floor hug the wall to the next entrance, leave, hug the wall to the first one and do it again. He tried to go around the floor once, got wobbly 10 feet from the wall and decided to backtrack to safety.

He wants skate again next week.
