Stupid Human Tricks.

Sometimes it's fun to work for an organization that provides support to the entire company.

Today one of the corporate lawyers called because "his phone and voice mail don't work". I sit next to the ladies who handle the phones so I got to hear all about it. First our support person called his voicemail and left a message. Then she called his phone and spoke to him. Everything worked fine. He said that nothing worked. His wife had been trying to call him and had left messages but the phone never rang and he never saw the message light. The tech asks if there's any posibility she could be calling the wrong number. Oh no, he says, she hears my voice on the voice mail. They check the computer logging on everything then the tech asks him to get on his other line and call the wife and ask her to call. Nothing. No call coming in but wifey swears she's calling. I didn't hear how they figured it out - I guess a clue finally descended on one of them. Apparently it is this guy's first week with the company and his wife was calling his previous place of employment.
