Socialed out.

This weekend didn't have a lot on the schedule but it has pretty much worn me out.

Saturday was the neighborhood block party. Munchie played with the other kids and seemed to have a lot of fun. A lot of it involved riding their bikes up and down the street. Munch isn't very confident on his yet. He has a tendency to swerve with his whole body and send it careening onto it's side. We had two major spills and he is pretty banged up with bruises and scrapes.

The worst wasn't his, though, the neighbor boy was riding next to another kid and must not have ever looked up where he was going because he plowed right into the back of a parked car. I don't think he was hurt but it scared the pee out of most of us. This is the kid who has had the pins out of his broken elbow for maybe 2 weeks. Yikes!

I schmoozed the immediate neighbors and spoke to a couple of the others, but I really have a tough time just randomly mingling. The joys of a munchkin is bowing out fairly early because of bedtime.

Today was a birthday party for one of my grand-nephews. An outdoor swimming in the wading pool, running in the sprinkler kind of party. Munchie wore himself out. I'm pretty tired too even though all I did was chat with the family. All in all, quite nice.
