Mergers and Aquisitions

We're learning bunches about all those fine theoretical business concepts. For instance it's a merger if you were bought an aquisition if you did the buying. If you are buying you are the "surviving company".

We finally got a pep talk yesterday. Probably a week later than we should have had. They pretty much said everything I've been saying all along. Everyone is safe until legal close (next year), there will be many jobs for our department in the new organization as they don't have the infrastructure here, and they aren't out to get us or screw us out of severance.

Most folks have calmed down. A few exceptions (like my former boss) are still wigged out. He's busy today looking for boxes to pack his office because he's "got valuable stuff in there".

Entertainment around here is reading the SEC filings to see how much cash the executives are getting and discussing what we're thinking of doing. Everyone is scrambling for training.
