The way it makes you feel.

Good weekend. Got things done on Saturday, spent more money than I expected and more time than I wanted on things I didn't choose, but it wasn't too bad. Sunday was a good day out at the Ren Faire with the best babe, her brit and her lovely houseguests. We had a lovely time seeing shows, looking at items for sale, eating yummy bad food, and drinking hard cider.

One of the prime activities of the day was snarking. What some people wear to the faire is just astonishing. I got to thinking about that. What goes through their heads when they look in the mirror as they dress for the day? Did the girl in the outfit that looked like a cross between french maid and leiderhosen with the strange bustly second butt effect feel really sexy? Did the girl with the metal bar bustier think it made her desirable? Were the pink suede boots and fairy wings things that made the wearer happy? Would it change any of their minds to know how silly we thought they looked?

I was reading some fashion article in one of my trashy magazines and one of the actresses was quoted as saying she picked her outfits based on how they made her feel when she wears them. In some cases, she said, seeing the reality in the pictures later was shocking to her. In those cases she wished someone had told her just how wrong her feeling was.
