Now Then Say Howdy About Me Guestbook Moved - 2007-07-16 |
2004-05-22 - 10:32 a.m. Buggy. I'll admit it, with so many cicada horror stories going around I was pretty bummed about not seeing very many. I have very fond memories of my first brush with Brood X as a child. I have the consumate horror story of a bug down my shirt while driving from the last occurance. This year I was feeling gypped! I went online to the Baltimore Sun's page and they had pictures with piles of cicada shells. Me I'd seen 2 shells and a couple or four actual bugs. Yesterday, however, I noticed something. That otherworldly hum was audible not just outside but inside too. And today as I was driving back from the store I noticed some cicadas zipping (ha! putt putting, really) over the traffic. Coming home I turn and look down the driveway and there are far more than I realized. Crisscrossing overhead and moving limb to limb on the trees. I mentioned it to DH and he openned the back door. Oh not many here, I think. Then I look at a tree - not so! They are officially everywhere. Yep, it's getting buggy around here!
