I didn't know I'd care.

I went downtown today to load some software. I walked right into a celebration. The promotion list was out and 2 of my primary users were on it. One became an SVP one became a AVP. Suddenly I was very sad. Sad because working for a new group means going to the bottom of the stack again. Sad because last year bossman lied to me about a promotion. Sad because even though it functionally means nothing, emotionally it feels like appreciation. And that's something I don't get very much.

But I ate some cake anyway.
