Fins to the Left, Fins to the Right

There's a certain feeling to an office space when things are running well. There's a harmony in the air when people are getting along and work is fullfilling. Then there's the way it is here at the Ancient & Venerable Bank. The boss is on a tear lately. He's yelling a lot and nasty to just about everyone.

He and the princess are pretty secretive too. They went to NY last week without actually mentioning it ahead of time. As in they told the admin the morning they were leaving. She didn't even get notice to clear the calendar.

Friday Night I got a call from a co-worker. I swear to God I thought someone must have died. It was almost 9pm on a Friday after all. Nope it was paranoia. We had a short conversation with the COO who stopped by after bossman left. He must have mentioned it to the head tech because bossman called him at home to find out what it was all about. He wanted to check with me for my interpretation of the encounter mostly because bossmans was so paranoid. And it was REALLY nothing ("Is he gone.", "Oh yeah, he's gone.", "What do you mean 'oh yeah'.", "Nothing, just - yeah, he's gone.", "Is this a normal thing?", "Nothing's normal around here anymore." Knowing nod, COO exits stage left).

Today I'm chatting with princess about the Circus. And she mentions that she heard COO made inappropriate comments. I'm floored - "uh no, nothing inappropriate". I relate the conversation while mentally deciding techguy isn't so paranoid afterall. She says "he knew we were in New York." And mentioned he hadn't thought it was necessary.

Yep, it's a feeling in the air. The smell of blood in the water. Methinks the sharks are starting to circle.
