The Edge.

On Saturday as I was driving to the store, I remember wondering when the leaves would really start changing. The trees dropped a bunch in August from the drought stress, but the rest seemed to be trying to hold on for a little bit longer to make use of the recent rains.

Monday when I drove to work there was just enough more change to put it over the edge. Now it's definitely fall. Something about hitting that critical number of colored leaves that does it. There's still a bunch of green to be sure, but now there's bright sploches of color everywhere. The sugar maples are spectacular.
