Hot Town Summer in the City.

So. Uhm. What to say.

I could rhapsodize about the rain, but that has been done. It does have the good effect of a) cooling things down and b) making the city smell a tad better. Generally in the city in summer there are 4 basic frangrance themes: urinal, urine cleaners, unwashed human and exhaust. I swear that when we commuters leave at night the folks still here must just piss everywhere. The conscientious building owners scrub down the building edges and sidewalks, but frankly the stuff they use smells pretty nasty too. The rain provides a nice respite.

We have some sort of Anime convention in town too. There were fruitloops lined up the whole way round the convention center this morning. Some of these people were dressed pretty amazingly. I also found it humorous to get my lunch behind a girl wearing a plastic samari sword in a plastic scabbard taped to her belt loop. My other favorites were the very tall person with Kelly Osborne pink hair and a robe with really wide shoulders made out of some sort of shiny red and purple sateen fabric. Or the chick with what looked like two tennis balls on her head. Or the guy carrying what looked like a cross with a stuffed cat attached to one of the cross bars. Oh yeah, great way to pass time at the traffic light.
