Business Lunch.

Today the bossman took the department to lunch. As bribery for our loyalty it wasn't the worst effort. A couple of glasses of wine or beer later we are all marking time to the end of the day.

Of course bossman almost didn't make it. It seems someone sent a "damaging" email. Blasting the company for yesterday's news article and blasting and accusing the bossman and the evp (of unique talents I've spoken of before) of several improprieties. The powers are horrified and trying to trace who sent it. Did they honestly think all these people would just go quietly?

We had a debate in the outer office earlier with the bossman about why the news article was way out of line. He defended it. His point of view is that they were idiots who think they are better than they are. My point of view was that even if the 25 people fired were all idiots (which they were not) you don't publish it in the paper the next day.
