The natives are restless.

Today I had a most interesting conversation with an individual at work from a different department. He has a side business doing art framing. He was making the rounds of folks who owe him money to see if he could collect some of it.

He said that the mood is so bad on the other floors that even if some of the folks aren't laid off, many will bolt if they can. Decided he should make the rounds and collect what he's owed while everyone is still there.

Mentioning that I guessed Friday would be a bad day, he said that it wouldn't. Seems what everyone else knows (and I didn't) is that the Board meets next Tuesday. Consensus is that the Board will have to approve the severance packages, so it won't happen until next week.

Apparently folks are expecting the bad news not tomorrow, but next friday. Boy are they going to be freaking on wednesday.
