The kind of day you want your kid to have.

Hubs had a flea market to go to. He's trying to clear out the last of the video tapes, but it's gotten to the point where even he admits that the remaining collection is "eclectic". I had to get up early because the boy had a play date. He had set one up last week without mentioning it and I ended up on the phone Mother's Day morning with the other Mom saying basically "no".

This time the arrangements were made sufficiently in advance. Both parents knew about it and joy of joy's it actually happened. I was mildly annoyed because it turned into a movie trip sometime mid-week. The other mom was suprised I was going, but really going to someones house is one thing taking him to a movie is something else.

We left the house around 9, met the boy's friend and his mom and headed to the movies. Saw Shrek 3 (cute but not great) then ate McDonalds for lunch. On the way home the boys decided they needed to play together for the afternoon, so the 2 boys and I headed back home. They played on the gamecube, swung swords (and sticks) at each other in the back yard, ran around a bit and ended up in a tandem game on the computer. Then it was almost dinner time and his dad came to get him.

It was just the kind of day I would wish for my boy.
