Home Again, Home Again.

Back from sunny florida where it was downright chilly. Which was apparently much better than around here where it was downright freezing. Due to the weather we did not go to the beach or pool. We also discovered the putt-putt has been long since shut down and that my in-laws don't know a heck of a lot to do around their winter home besides work on their golf game. On the plus side we did spend some time at a local state park and took both the boat tour and the tram tour. We saw some gators doing what gators do (which is to say not much). Amusingly enough we actually got a much closer view later the same afternoon when one went swimming by in the lake next to their house.

All in all it was an ok trip. A bit far to travel to hang out and watch golf on tv, but the in-laws won't be around forever so it makes sense to see them while we can. Now if I could just convince my husband and son to actually hang out with them more we'd be set. The boys tended to go next door where we were sleeping (the little one for Cartoon Network and DS, the big one to read) while I sat around talking with his folks. So I got to watch the soaps and golf make nice with people I'm not actually related to while they sat next door doing things we didn't need to go all the way to Florida to do. Sigh.
